FAQ - NV West Pre-Vocational Program

How are individuals paid at NV West?

Individual pay rates are based upon periodic productivity timings calculated on the work completed.  NV West has a certificate from the State of Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development and the U.S Department of Labor which authorizes the employment of workers with disabilities at special minimum wage rates that are less than the Federal minimum wage.

How much supervision is there?

Guidelines require our staffing patterns be 15:1.

Can individuals take days off for vacation, medical/dental appointments, etc. and not worry about losing their job?

Yes

Are individuals required to work week-ends?

No week-end work is required.

How many days can you work in a week?

Individuals can work up to 5 days/week.

How many hours do individuals work in a day?

Individuals work from 9:00 AM until 2:00 PM. Individuals get a 15 minute paid break and a half hour for lunch (not paid). Total work day is 4.5 hours.

What do you need to do to receive services at NV West?

Please call one of NV West’s Program Representatives Chris Marien, Tim Wunsch,   or Karen Philipp @ 848-0916 for a tour to determine if the program will meet the    individuals needs.  Program details will be discussed at this time.  Business hours are   Monday – Friday from 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM.

When are individuals paid?

Individuals are paid on the third Wednesday of each month for the jobs they perform.
