MVCC - Testimonials
I am writing this letter to thank you and your employees for their great care regarding my wife, Myra Schuster. She is currently a resident of Unit E, but was a resident of Unit C in years past.
The care that my wife has been given has been outstanding. In my opinion, the wonderful staff there seems to take great pride in caring for the residents. Each resident is treated as if they are members of their own family. I have also noted the love that the residents have for the staff by their facial expressions or verbal responses to them.
My family and I really appreciate the care that my wife has received.

On Sept 25 2008 I was in a traffic accident where I have many injuries, including loss of my left leg & broken neck. I was at Theda Clark in Neenah in ICU for over two weeks, mostly unconscious & then was transferred to a regular room for two weeks. On October 23, 2009 I was moved to Mount View Care center on the 1 South wing which is the rehab center.
While at Mount View I was very impressed with the kindness & compassion of the staff. They were all so friendly..the nurses, CNA's, cleaning ladies, maintenance all employees were always smiling. As a small businessman this tells me the management of Mount View does a tremendous job hiring quality people.
Anyone who thinks the younger generations is lazy should spend some time here and watch the CNA's.
While I was in Mount view I had Occupational therapy, Physical therapy & some speech therapy, the therapists were all very professional and friendly.
Mount view is a very clean care center with very good food!
I left Mount view on February 5th to go home. I still go back twice a week for therapy and I go back to the 1 South wind to see my old roommate Peter and all the staff that worked so hard to help me get well. They are like an extended family to me and I love them very much.

You never expect a parent to end up in a nursing home in their 60's but sometimes life throws you a curve ball. This is what happened when my dad had a very serious accident that left him with many injuries, many surgeries & a long recovery period.
On Sept 25, 2008 I received a phone call from my brother that my dad was at Theda Clark in Neenah and had been in an accident, my brother had received a call from the Chaplin. We were told to get there immediately.
My sister Denise & I rushed to the hospital not knowing what to expect and met other relatives there. We learned he was in surgery and had lost a leg but other than that we were just in shock & did not know the extent of his injuries. All we were able to do is hope & pray that he would make it through.
He spent 17 days in the trauma center (ICU) and made it through many surgeries. We were so excited on that day when he finally moved to his own room & out of ICU, he of course did not realize what getting his own room really meant as he did not know how far he had come.
He was finally stable enough to be transferred to a Nursing home the end of October. Theda Clark made phone calls and said he would be transferred to Mount View.
He was very weak when he arrived, it brought tears to my eyes when three CNA's welcomed him by name when he got into the building. They walked him to his room to help get him situated. This type of compassion continued throughout his stay. The MVCC 1 south staff was outstanding. Nurses & CNA's did all tasks with a smile showing how they truly enjoy working at MVCC. Housekeeping & maintenance supported him with his needs. Dietary served him excellent food, including homemade soups. Everyone on 1 South made him feel at home & I am sure he made many lifetime friends both staff & other residents. Activity Aides had various activities daily so there were places for him to go to socialize. His Physical therapist Kevin knew exactly what rehab to do and at what pace.
We are so lucky to still have our dad here with us & that he had such loving people to help with his care. My dad is an amazing wonderful father, I cannot imaging live without him & his positive attitude even through tough times.

As a hospital social worker, I am aware of how challenging it is to find a home for a patient with advanced dementia. I was so pleased once we had made a referral to Mount View. They responded to our needs as a hospital and were so helpful to the family. They accepted their loved one and offered the family the peace of mind they needed in knowing that the staff were well trained, knowledgeable and willing to provide the care that they no longer could provide in their home. It was great working with Mount View!!
