Home Visits

Home visits can be very meaningful and therapeutic. Whenever you and your family or friend decides that it would be beneficial for you to make a home visit, our staff will help you in making arrangements. Your doctor needs to approve any overnight visits and your nurse needs time to get your medications ready. Please give us a 24-hour notice to make the arrangements needed so your visit goes smoothly.

Bedholds

When you leave the facility for an overnight visit or hospital stay, we presume you will want us to “hold your bed” unless you state otherwise. You will be provided bedhold information at admission and prior to any overnight visit or hospital stay. The charge for “bedholds” is 85% of your daily rate.

Transfers

It may be necessary during your stay to transfer you to another room. Prior to such a transfer, we will explain why the transfer is necessary and what alternatives are available.

Those of you being admitted for rehabilitative or transitional short term care for recuperation from illness or rehabilitation will usually live on our Transitional Care Unit. If, during you recuperative period, it becomes necessary for you to extend you stay indefinitely, we will discuss with you the beds open on other units and assist you in your choice.

In addition to our Transitional Care Unit for short-term stays, we also have specialized units for dementia or behavioral care. When you no longer need the care provided on any of these units, we would ask that you move to another location within our facility. Our staff will assist you in making a smooth transition. Except in cases of health or safety emergencies, you will be the person who decides about transfers.
