North Central Health Care Runs Four-week Walk-in Clinic Pilot Program

After the recent completion of its LEAN outpatient project, North Central Health Care (NCHC) noted that individuals seeking access to outpatient mental health or AODA services were having to wait a significant amount of time to see a clinician. In response, NCHC is piloting a walk-in clinic for non-crisis adult clients in need of immediate therapy services.

The walk-in clinic offers same day, walk-in evaluations for new clients who have immediate concerns that they need to have addressed by a clinician. The clinic offers assessment and follow through services with our clinicians who are Mental Health Therapists and AODA Counselors. Follow through services such as group or individual counseling, inpatient or day treatment services will be offered to individuals based upon their unique needs. Services are available for residents of Marathon, Lincoln and Langlade counties.

In the first two weeks, seven clients received walk-in services. The walk-in clinic hours are as follows:

  • 8:30-12:00 Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays (Mental health or AODA)
  • 12:30-4:00 Tuesdays (Mental health only) and Thursdays (AODA only)

The pilot program ends on October 7, 2011.
