Mount View Care Center Featured on Sunrise7 for Understanding Dementia

According to the World Health Organization, dementia affects 47.5 million people, and the number grows with about 7.7 million cases each year. Some local groups are providing training sessions to help with the syndrome.

Sunrise 7 spoke with Activity Therapist Cagney Martin from Mount View Care Center and Charles Schoenfeld of Downtown Memory Cafe to preview the training, Understanding Dementia: Tools to be an Effective Helper, which will run from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Thursday in Wausau at the First United Methodist Church, as well as in Rhinelander at Immanuel Lutheran Church.
