NCHC Launches New Phone Notification System for Nursing Homes

Community Updates

On May 20, 2020, North Central Health Care launched a new phone notification system for our nursing home families at Mount View and Pine Crest. The safety and health of all those we serve is our top priority, along with making sure families have the information they need in a timely manner. Our goal is to be able to quickly provide up to date information and news regarding operations within our nursing homes. Things can change frequently with the current Covid-19 pandemic and we want to make sure information is provided quickly and through several different methods.

We have always been very transparent with reporting to the public of any Covid-19 related cases in our facility and will continue to do so moving forward. As of Monday, May 11, all nursing homes in the US are required by CMS to inform our residents, their representatives and families of any confirmed or suspected COVID-19 cases in their facility. The communication must occur by 5 p.m. the next calendar day following each occurrence. That may be a single case; or three or more residents or staff with new respiratory symptoms occurring within 72 hours of one other. Additionally, NCHC reports information weekly to the CDC.

As of this notice, we are still currently restricting all visitors to our nursing home facilities. Given the critical importance in limiting COVID-19 exposure in nursing homes, decisions on relaxing these restrictions are being made with careful review of a number of facility-level, community, and State factors, and in collaboration with State and local health officials. We will continue to operate in the best interest of our residents.

We invite you to visit our new web page at www.norcen.org/Family to listen to the current phone notification, view our current nursing home visitor restrictions and review additional resources available.

Please bookmark and share this page with your family and friends who may not be on this call list. If you have any questions, please contact the Mount View or Pine Crest social work team. They are here for you and your families!
