North Central Health Care Named Wisconsin's 2025 Children’s System of Care Champion

A statewide honor recognizing compassion, collaboration, and innovation in supporting children and families.

We’re proud to share that North Central Health Care (NCHC) has been named the 2025 Children’s System of Care Champion by the Children Come First Advisory Committee, a statewide recognition celebrating organizations that demonstrate exceptional dedication to improving the lives of children, young adults, and families.

This prestigious honor reflects the collective heart, compassion, and collaboration that define NCHC’s work across Marathon, Lincoln, and Langlade Counties. Nominated by a state department partner and selected from among 19 nominees across Wisconsin, NCHC was recognized for its comprehensive continuum of care, a system that spans crisis services, community treatment, outpatient programs, and youth behavioral health care.

A Reflection of Our Shared Commitment

“This recognition reflects the tremendous impact our organization has made in supporting the health and well-being of children, young adults, and families across our communities,” said Jason Hake, Acting Executive Director of North Central Health Care. “It’s a direct reflection of our team’s compassion, collaboration, and dedication to serving others, both on campus and throughout the region.”

Behind every program and service are people who care deeply, staff who go above and beyond to make sure every child and family feels supported, understood, and valued. From our inpatient youth programs to community outreach and crisis support, each service is part of a larger system working toward one shared goal: helping children and families thrive.

A Community Effort

The Children Come First Advisory Committee shared high praise for NCHC’s commitment and impact:

“Your work while meeting the needs of the families served is also transforming their lives. The impact is insurmountable, and this award reflects the heart, skill, and determination your team brings to work every single day. Thank you for being champions, your leadership and commitment set the standards of excellence for those that serve.”

This recognition also belongs to NCHC’s partners in Social Services across Marathon, Langlade, and Lincoln Counties. Together, these teams have built a seamless network of care designed to deliver services in the least restrictive setting possible, keeping children connected to their communities, families, and schools while receiving the care they need.

Looking Toward the Future

NCHC continues to advance its vision for a Desired Future State, one where human services systems work together to provide holistic, accessible, and person-centered care. By integrating mental health, substance use, child welfare, adult protective services, and justice-involved care, NCHC and its partners are shaping a more responsive and resilient community support system.

“Every employee and partner plays a role in this success,” Jason added. “Whether providing direct care, supporting operations, or the work of our Social Services partners, this recognition belongs to all of us.”

Celebrating the Heart Behind the Work

This award is more than a milestone. It’s a reminder of the lives changed through compassion and teamwork. To every employee, partner, and advocate who supports our mission: thank you for being part of the journey.
