NCHC is Expanding Mental Health Services for Youth

The Youth Behavioral Health Hospital opening in fall 2020 will provide stabilization to youth experiencing a mental health crisis and provide an opportunity to recover in a local calming environment on our Wausau Campus. A network of onsite licensed clinicians and psychiatrists provide 24/7 trauma informed care to address each adolescent’s unique challenges and provide resources for a safe return home. They also provide individual, group and family counseling through a multidisciplinary team of care providers.

Coming Soon!

For youth who would benefit from crisis stabilization but do not need hospitalization, NCHC will also be opening a Youth Crisis Stabilization center in fall of 2020. Youth of all ages experiencing a mental health crisis, or who are at risk of entering into a crisis, may be eligible to stay at this 8-bed home where they will participate in services to stabilize the crisis and enhance their emotional well being. Youth Crisis Stabilization staff will work in collaboration with each child’s support system to develop a plan for their stay and for their return home.
