About North Central Health Care

North Central Health Care is a facility that provides services to three counties in central Wisconsin. For the purposes of this request, we provide care to the mentally ill and substance addicted. NCHC offers outpatient, emergency/crisis, community support and inpatient services for mental/emotional problems; outpatient, day programs, transitional services, detoxification services for alcohol and drug dependency. NCHC is currently participating in a partnership with the Medical College of Wisconsin to provide a Psychiatric Residency Program.

North Central Health Care Programs

Below are descriptions of NCHC’s main programs that will need to be included in our EHR solution:

Mental Health/Chemical Dependency Services

Emergency/Crisis

NCHC operates a 24‐hour/7 day telephone crisis service. We have the ability to deploy professional crisis staff on a mobile basis during most of the day and evening.

We operate a Crisis CBRF (Community Based Residential Facility) which provides crisis stabilization to individuals who would otherwise be hospitalized. It also provides a step down from hospitalization to the community.

Psychiatric Hospital

NCHC operates an inpatient psychiatric hospital. Alcohol and other drug detoxification services are also provided on both a voluntary and involuntary basis.

Medically-Monitored Treatment

NCHC operates a more structured and intensive recovery program for substance abuse which may require a significant amount of support for those that are obtaining treatment by providing a multi-disciplinary approach in treating those with a chemical dependency.

Substance Abuse Day Treatment

NCHC currently offers a day treatment program for chemical-dependent patients. Day treatment allows a patient to participate in similar programming as inpatient without living at the hospital.

Outpatient Services

NCHC offers outpatient assessment & treatment for mental, emotional and chemical dependency challenges at our offices in Wausau, Merrill, Tomahawk and Antigo.

Community Treatment Services

For persons suffering from severe and persistent mental illnesses, we have found that a variety of supportive services are very successful in helping these people to function at their maximum capabilities in the community. Community Support Programs offer an intense level of support. Comprehensive Community Services provide support in a variety of ways including medication management. Provided in all three counties.

CBRF (Community Based Residential Facility)

NCHC operates CBRFs throughout the region that house individuals and provide them with care and services. Imagine long-term care facility structure.
